Battle of the Brick is Finally Coming out...

After years in the making and being delayed, Battle of the Brick is a go. On November 11th, the film will premier on Gametrailers.com. Here is the first official trailer for the film, announcing its release date! I hope you enjoy.

Upcoming films...

So I haven't given this blog any love for a while. It's just too easy to update Facebook and Twitter at the same time, so I apologize for that.

The good news is that my new film, Bricks of War, will be out on my youtube channel this Sunday along with a bonus video.

There will be an announcement about Battle of the Brick shortly and all of your fears and worries and questions about its release will be answered. I appreciate the patience of the fans who have stuck around this long. I realize how un-bearable the wait must be.

Working on next project

I'm currently converting the image files from my next project into video files. Then it's some special FX work, some editing, and then some sound and you'll be able to watch it. I'm anticipating having this done by the end of this week.

Some Updates

So, here's the news:

-Battle of the Brick is completely finished and done.

-I am currently talking with some very important people behind the scenes on how to release the movie, and how to promote it properly.

-As soon as I have an official release date, you will start seeing trailers and previews.

-I am currently working on my next project based on a popular video game.

-The next project will be done very soon and will only be a few minutes long, similar to my Lego Starcraft film.

So this is a quick preview of things to come, all thanks to my friend Dan who know's how to use After FX a lot better than I do. This is a shot b4 color correction....so it's bound to look even better when it's done. Who wants to guess what happens to the blue guy?

New update

So for the past few weeks Battle of the Brick has really been coming together. I'm just finishing up placing all of the sound FX in, and my friend in California just got done with a movie shoot, so he's going to have a lot of time to help finish up the special FX. It wont be long before a new trailer is released and a date is set, I promise.

Work continues...

So my buddy in California has been shooting a movie for the past 16 days. When he gets back soon, we're gonna try and finish the FX for the film and get this thing rolling.

Hey everyone! I've got a short little animation for everyone to celebrate the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 while I finish Battle of the Brick. I wanted to test out the "robot chicken" mouth trick with some hand-drawn mouths from Photoshop. So check it out. You might get a chuckle if you're familiar with the game.

Battle of the Brick almost done!

Great News! Finished compiling the individual pictures into scenes today. I've already begun making a rough cut of Battle of the Brick and it's looking great. Here's a video I made earlier today describing the process. Little did I realize that I was nearing the end of that proccess!

This is the outline I used to guide myself through making Lego Starcraft: Brick Rush. The circles on the left indicated that I had shot the scene. I didn't need anything fancy. Just good old giant notecards!

New video

Here's the short video I put together as I finish up Battle of the Brick. I made this to highlight how heated gamers get, defending their console. It's ironic cause all consoles have their good and bad points. If I didn't like x-box, why would I own a 360 and original xbox?

P.S., the controller in the vid was already very broken. So yeah....wouldn't waste 40 bucks on that.

Comparison Exposures

Here's a recent exposure comparison I did for myself. The tricky part is getting as many figures in focus as possible. This usually requires a long exposure, or putting the ISO up as much as possible. Check out the shots for yourself. I usually use the last one the most, which gets more of the figs in focus. Also...these #'s aren't final. I change the settings all the time.

P.S...all shot on my Canon Digital Rebel XTi with a wide angle lens.
